  • Caucasus Wildlife Refuge (CWR) (Ararat and Vayots Dzor Provinces, Armenia) from the 15h to the 25th of September.

We are calling for the volunteers to take part in bird counts and monitoring activities at the biodiversity reach areas of South Caucasus.

Caucasus Wildlife Refuge is a privately protected area (PPA) of 30,000 hectares in Ararat and Vayots Dzor provinces of Armenia established by the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC). Nestled in the vicinity of Khosrov Forest State Reserve CWR is home for more than 150 bird species (including the rarities such as Caspian Snowcock, Lanner Falcon, all four species of Vultures, Eastern and Western Rock Nuthatches, Eastern Orphean Warbler, White-throated Warbler, 5 species of Wheatears, Desert and Trumpeter Finches and many others).

The unique landscape zones ranging from semi-deserts to alpine meadows are home for large variety of mammals such as Bezoar Goat, Armenian Mouflon, Caucasian Lynx, Syrian Bear and iconic Caucasian Leopard.
