FPWC participated in BirdLife Europe and Central Asia Restoration Working Group Meeting in Almaty

ArAves NGO is pleased to announce that our partner, the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC), as the BirdLife International partner organization in Armenia, participated in the BirdLife Europe and Central Asia Restoration Working Group (RWG) meeting held on October 14–15 in Almaty, Kyrgyzstan.

This significant event took place within the framework of the European Partnership Meeting, bringing together BirdLife partner organizations from across the region to share experiences, analyze the real challenges of nature restoration, and identify new opportunities for collaboration.

The discussions focused on the challenges of planning, implementing, and monitoring restoration projects. Participants reviewed specific terrestrial and marine case studies to highlight effective monitoring strategies, the development of inclusive and equitable approaches, and the need for sustainable funding of such initiatives.

As an RWG member, FPWC is currently implementing a large-scale restoration program in Armenia. The Almaty meeting provided an important platform for exploring ways to integrate international expertise into Armenia’s efforts and apply the knowledge and experience of BirdLife Europe partners.

Participation in such events plays a vital role in ensuring that Armenia’s restoration efforts are aligned with international best practices, making them both effective and inclusive.
